Corrections Policy
Last reviewed:
Business Magazine 24 corrects every material error of fact as soon as we are made aware of it. We aim to do so in a way that is transparent, traceable and proportionate to the significance of the original error.
What counts as a material error
A material error is any error of fact that could affect a reader's understanding of the story. This includes (but is not limited to) misstated numbers, dates, names, titles, quotations, attributions, regulatory status, court findings or financial outcomes.
How we correct
- Update the affected article with the correct information.
- Append a dated correction note at the foot of the article, in italics, explaining what was wrong and what has been changed.
- Preserve the original incorrect text only where doing so is necessary for transparency.
- For significant errors (front-page or homepage-flagged stories), we add a link from our homepage and the relevant category page for at least 24 hours so subscribers and readers can see the correction.
Clarifications vs corrections
Where a statement was technically accurate but unclear or open to misinterpretation, we publish a clarification rather than a correction. Clarifications carry the same dated note at the foot of the article.
Retractions
We retract stories only in exceptional cases where the underlying reporting cannot be supported. Retracted stories remain at their original URL with an editor's note explaining the retraction; we do not silently unpublish material.
Flagging an error
To report an error in any Business Magazine 24 article, email [email protected] with the URL of the affected story and a description of what you believe is wrong. We aim to respond within two working days. See our full editorial standards.
